Choice Tires: A Community Cornerstone in Grantsville

Some small-town businesses are built on opportunity. Others are built on commitment.

For Shane and Jaime Reedy, Choice Tires wasn’t just a business decision—it was a family decision, a community decision, and a leap of faith from years of experience.

Shane had spent nearly two decades in the tire industry. He knew the work, the pace, and the pressure. What he wanted next wasn’t just another job—it was ownership. Independence. Something they could build together.

“We were mobile at first,” Jaime shared. “And we just decided we didn’t want to be mobile anymore. We wanted to stay close to home.”

Four years ago, they went all in. Jaime left her job in finance and Choice Tires opened its doors in Grantsville.

Why Grantsville Was the Right Choice

The Reedys didn’t choose Grantsville for foot traffic or volume. They chose it for connection.

“We wanted a smaller feel,” Jaime said. “We knew we could build friendships with our customers and get to know everybody better.”

They wanted a place where customers weren’t just transactions—where they’d see the same faces at the grocery store, the gas station, school events, and games.

And that’s exactly what happened.

“Our customers are our neighbors,” Shane said. “They’re kind of like our family.”

After living in Salt Lake for 25 years, that familiarity felt different—and meaningful.

“In the city, you don’t see the same people over and over,” Jaime said. “Here, you do. And that matters.”

Built for the Community, Not Just the Cars

Choice Tires started as a tire shop—but it didn’t stay there.

Over time, they expanded to include alignments, oil changes, suspension work, lift kits, lowering kits, custom jobs, and full automotive services. From motorcycle tires to commercial and loader tires, if it has wheels, they can handle it.

But what truly sets them apart isn’t just the range of services—it’s how personal the business is.

“This isn’t just money for us,” Jaime said. “This is our life.”

Their kids come to the shop after school, friends stop by just to say hi, bikes get filled with air, drinks get grabbed from the fridge, and the shop feels more like a neighborhood hub than a waiting room.

“When I come here, this is my sanctuary,” Jaime said. “Just like my house.”

And because they’re owners who are present every day, accountability is built into everything they do.

“If we mess up, we take care of it,” Shane says resolutely. Mistakes happen. Cars are complex. Growth is messy. But what matters to them is ownership.

“This is our pride,” Jaime said. “We built this.”

Grit in the Growing Pains

The biggest challenge they’ve faced hasn’t been slow business—it’s been rapid growth.

Every year, Choice Tires has grown by roughly 20%. And while that’s a good problem to have, it comes with real pressure.

“We had a plan for slow times,” Jaime said. “We didn’t have a plan for growing this fast.”

Phones ringing. Messages coming in on multiple platforms. Customers slipping through cracks unintentionally. Long days balancing business, kids, and life.

“I’m a one-man band up front,” Jaime said. “And sometimes if I miss a call, it really bothers me.”

Hiring has been the hardest part. In a small town, the pool is limited—and Shane and Jaime are intentional about who they bring in.

“We want people who are as good as us—or better,” Jaime said. “And that’s hard to find.”

Still, they keep adapting. Improving systems. Changing processes. Learning as they go.

“We’re not perfect,” Jaime said. “But we’re trying to improve every single day.”

Investing in the Next Generation

Choice Tires doesn’t just serve the community—they invest in it.

They sponsor local sports because they believe in Grantsville’s kids.

“I love that every kid here plays every sport,” Jaime said. “That’s why we sponsor.”

They also partner with the high school to offer internships, training students in real-world automotive skills while earning school credit. Not only does that serve the students, but it strengthens their workforce. Several of those interns have stayed on as paid employees.

It’s not just a shop—it’s a place where young people learn responsibility, work ethic, and pride in what they do.

Looking Ahead

The future for Choice Tires is clear: they want to stay in the Grantsville community. Their dream is to own their land, build their own shop, and continue serving Grantsville for decades to come.

“We’ve outgrown this building,” Jaime said. “There are days when cars are lined down the street.”

They’re not standing still. They never have. “We don’t sit stagnant very long,” she said. “We’re always trying to move forward.”

A Small Business with Big Traction

Choice Tires is proof that small-town businesses don’t thrive by accident. They thrive because people choose to care—about their work, their customers, and their community.

Shane and Jaime Reedy didn’t just open a tire shop. They built a place where people are known, customers are neighbors, kids are supported, and growth is handled with grit and humility.

In Grantsville, that kind of determination goes a long way—and it keeps the whole community rolling forward.
